Every AI turn burns tokens. BurnWatch shows you exactly how fast.

A native macOS menubar app for developers using Claude Code or Codex (OpenAI). No account, no sign-in — BurnWatch reads your local transcript files directly and surfaces the numbers that matter.
BurnWatch reads live rate limit data straight from Claude Code — accurate to within 1% of what the /usage endpoint reports. Codex rate limits come directly from OpenAI's session files. No guessing, no polling.
Track Claude Code and Codex side by side, switch views with a tap. Cost calculations appear where pricing is available; Codex shows token counts and rate limits.
Set an optional dollar limit for your 5-hour window, today, or the week — BurnWatch shows a progress bar toward each cap and sends a notification when you're getting close.
BurnWatch makes zero network requests. It reads two folders on your Mac — ~/.claude and ~/.codex — and nothing else. Your data never leaves your machine.
Launch BurnWatch, grant folder access once, and live stats appear immediately. A lightweight shell script is automatically installed to capture Claude rate limit data from each turn.
Requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. Claude Code and/or Codex must be installed separately.
